Situated near Oklahoma’s Route 66 corridor in Lawton, the Comanche National Museum and Cultural Center preserves and presents the history and cultural heritage of the Comanche Nation. The facility serves as both a museum and a cultural gathering space dedicated to education, preservation and community engagement.
ABOUT COMANCHE NATIONAL MUSEUM & CULTURAL CENTER
Visitors can explore permanent galleries featuring historical photographs, treaty documents, traditional clothing, beadwork, weapons and fine art. Exhibits examine Comanche origins, horsemanship culture, leadership structures and the tribe’s relationship to the Southern Plains. Interpretive panels provide context about removal, allotment and the establishment of the Comanche Nation in present-day Oklahoma.
The center also highlights contemporary Comanche artists, offering rotating exhibitions of painting, sculpture and mixed media. Educational programming, cultural presentations and community events are hosted throughout the year, creating opportunities for visitors to engage with living Comanche traditions.
