The San Pasqual Economic Development Corporation (SPEDC) celebrated the ribbon cutting for the Horizon Fuel Center and The Pit Stop Market on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Located in Valley Center, California, at the corner of North Lake Wohlford Road and Valley Center Road, this milestone project was designed to promote tribal economic sustainability and serve the local community.

The 8,100-square-foot structure serves as a one-stop shop for both locals and travelers: 

HORIZON FUEL CENTER: Features high-tech gas pumps with entertainment screens, high-octane racing fuel, propane, and a dedicated diesel island for large trucks and RVs.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging: It was the first site in the U.S. to deploy the Boost Charger by FreeWire, an ultrafast battery-integrated EV charge.

THE PIT STOP MARKET: A convenience store with a drive-thru feature—a first-of-its-kind for the area—allowing guests to purchase snacks, essentials, and gourmet coffee without leaving their vehicles.

DINING:  Includes an on-site Chester's Chicken, Veloce Pizza & Pasta, Sandwiches & Salads, Thrifty Ice Cream and Market 22 Soups, offering fast-casual dining with both indoor seating and drive-thru service.

CAR WASH:  a 4,000-square-foot distribution center, and an Indian Health Service building, with completion expected in early 2026.

ZIGGI’S COFFEE:  The site now also hosts a Ziggi's Coffee drive-thru, which opened in July 2024. Menu highlights include Dirty Soda in many flavors, pastry items, breakfast burritos, frozen infusions, expresso shots, blenders, hot cherry almond oat milk matcha and much more.
