Located just south of Albuquerque along historic U.S. Route 66, Isleta Lakes & RV Park offers travelers a peaceful outdoor retreat set along the fertile floodplain of the Rio Grande. Framed by shimmering water, wide desert skies and views of the Sandia Mountains, the park provides a scenic base for exploring central New Mexico’s natural and cultural landscapes.
ABOUT ISLETA LAKES & RV PARK
Situated on Pueblo of Isleta land, the park reflects an enduring relationship between river, community, and place. The Rio Grande has long sustained Indigenous lifeways in this region, shaping patterns of movement, gathering, and tradition across generations. That deep connection to water remains central to the experience today, where calm lakes and expansive skies create a sense of continuity between past and present.
Spacious RV sites and peaceful lakefront settings establish a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. The contrast between desert terrain and reflective water adds visual depth, particularly at sunset when distant mountain peaks glow beneath wide New Mexico skies.
While the environment feels serene and removed, the park remains conveniently located near Albuquerque, allowing visitors to pair their stay with nearby dining, cultural attractions, or the amenities of Isleta Resort & Casino. The result is a balanced experience—grounded in nature yet accessible to the broader offerings of central New Mexico.
LAKES
The lakes are stocked seasonally and are popular for trout fishing, drawing both casual anglers and experienced fishers. Day-use fishing permits are typically available, and the setting provides open shoreline access with wide views of the surrounding desert and mountain landscape.
