The Northern Navajo Fair is the Oldest and Most Traditional of the Navajo Fairs, held each fall in the Navajo Land where the Navajo people of the Four Corners come to celebrate the year’s harvest with a community celebration, in Shiprock NM.

Grounded in the deeply respected theme “Rooted in Tradition, We Rise Together in K'é,” this year's harvest celebration brings the Four Corners community together at the Shiprock Fairgrounds (located near Highway 491 and Uranium Boulevard). 

Highlights for the 2026 Fair Weekend

As the oldest and most traditional celebration on the Navajo Nation, the remaining daily schedule is packed with major cultural events:

Rodeo Action: Features the Rodeo Queen & Princess Pageant kicking off Thursday, October 1, at 5:30 PM, Open Rodeo events on Friday and Saturday, and the Open Junior Rodeo on Sunday, October 4, at 9:00 AM.

Pow Wow & Gourd Dance: The Grand Entry for the Jimmy King Sr. Memorial Pow Wow takes place Friday night (7:00 PM) and Saturday (2:00 PM & 7:00 PM). A traditional Gourd Dance follows on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Elder Fest & Youth Day: Both take place on Thursday, October 1, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Elder Fest includes a Dolly Look-A-Like Contest and an "Aunties Biggest Earrings" competition.

Live Music: Country music artist Rick Trevino performs live on Thursday, October 1, at 8:30 PM. Local favorites the Stateline Band play on Saturday, October 3.

The Shiprock Parade: The signature festive march through town begins early on Saturday, October 3, at 7:00 AM, led by Grand Marshals Dr. Tanisha Begay, Shiyazh Pete, and Justin Pioche.

General admission tickets are available at the gate

General Admission: $10 per person (Children 5 and under are free).

Parking: $10 per vehicle.

Concert Entry:

Rick Trevino tickets are $35 online / $40 at the door (requires separate general fair admission)
