The Annual S’edav Va’aki Indian Market takes place the second weekend in December. Hosted by the S’edav Va’aki Museum in Phoenix, it is a vibrant celebration of Native art, culture and community.
Located on ancestral Akimel O’Odham land, the museum preserves a 1,500-year-old Hohokam site with ancient canals and a platform mound. As the heart of a living heritage, the museum works with O’Odham, Piipaash and Salt River Pima-Maricopa communities to honor their history and traditions.
The Indian Market celebrates this living culture, featuring Native artists, performers and traditions rooted in the Southwest.
The annual Indian Market at the museum showcases over 100 Native American artists presenting handmade beadwork, pottery, jewelry and more. Visitors can enjoy traditional music and dance, cultural demonstrations, Native foods and family-friendly hands-on activities in the Ki:him (“village”).
There is an admission fee for adults, with discounts for Native Americans, military personnel and first responders. Children 12 and under, as well as museum foundation members, enjoy free entry.
Don’t miss this special weekend of Native art, culture and tradition. There’s something for everyone to enjoy.
