We-Ko-Pa Golf Club is a 36-hole, daily-fee golf destination located on the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation in Fort McDowell, Arizona. Set within open Sonoran Desert terrain east of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, the golf club offers expansive views of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape without residential development surrounding the courses. The facility features two distinctly designed 18-hole courses, a full-service clubhouse, practice facilities, golf shop and dining.
CHOLLA COURSE
The Cholla Course opened in 2001 and was designed by golf course architect Scott Miller. The course provides a traditional desert-golf experience with arroyos, desert ridges, elevation changes and views toward the Verde River valleys, Red Mountain, Four Peaks and the Superstition Mountains.
Cholla plays as a par-72 course and extends to approximately 7,225 yards from the back tees. The layout incorporates strategic landing areas and risk-reward opportunities, requiring golfers to consider the desert terrain when planning shots.
SAGUARO COURSE
The Saguaro Course opened in 2006 and was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Its layout follows the natural movement of the desert terrain, with wider playing corridors and a links-inspired approach that differs from the more traditional desert design of Cholla.
Saguaro plays as a par-71 course and measures approximately 6,966 yards from the back tees. The course is also designed to accommodate walking, with greens and subsequent tees positioned relatively close together.
