The 78th Annual Navajo Nation Fair is scheduled for September 8–13, 2026, at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds in Window Rock, Arizona. Known as the largest American Indian fair in North America, it is a massive celebration of Diné culture, heritage, and modern lifestyle.
The fair features dozens of events over seven days, blending competitive sports with cultural showcases:
Cultural Competitions: Traditional Song and Dance, Pow Wow, and the highly regarded Miss Navajo Nation Pageant, where contestants are judged on cultural knowledge, language, and traditional skills like sheep slaughtering.
Community Fun: A massive parade (historically starting early Saturday morning), baby contests, frybread contests, and a nightly carnival.
Live Entertainment: Large-scale concerts at the Dean C. Jackson Arena and nightly Country Western dances.
Arts & Agriculture: An arts and crafts market, horticulture exhibitions, and livestock shows.
