The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians—one of six federally recognized Luiseño Tribes in Southern California—calls the hills of northern San Diego County home, a landscape deeply rooted in ancestral history. The Rincon Reservation was established near the ancient Payómkawichum village of Wáșxa, along what is now California State Route 76, where cultural memory and contemporary community life continue to intersect.
Today, that living connection to place is also expressed in new and creative ways, including the Rincon Reservation Road Brewery (3R Brewery), a tribally owned craft brewery founded by the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians. As the first of its kind on a reservation in Southern California, 3R Brewery reflects both innovation and cultural continuity—bringing together craft brewing with Indigenous values, storytelling, and stewardship of the land.
With locations in Valley Center and Ocean Beach, 3R Brewery has become a welcoming stop for locals and visitors alike. The brewery emphasizes sustainability and locally sourced ingredients, drawing inspiration from Luiseño traditions and the natural environment that has long sustained the community. Each beer becomes part of a broader narrative—one that honors heritage while engaging contemporary craft culture.
